Angkringan, is one of favorite food place for college student in Yogyakarta. Why?? Only one answer, cheap. Yeah... With IDR 2.000 (20 cents) you can eat. One thing a special from angkringan is the cooked rice. It called "nasi kucing (in english = cat cooked rice)".
Why it called "nasi kucing"? Because the size of cooked rice is like for cat food or the large like your clutch hand. There are 2 kind of "nasi kucing", they are "nasi kucing" with tiny sea fish spieces and "nasi kucing" with stir fried of fermented soybean cake.

But, its doesn't "nasi kucing" only you can find there. There are common foods and drinks you can find in Angkringan:
Any kind of "sate (in english = small pieces of meat roasted on skewer)" with the pieces like (about IDR 1.000/pcs or 10 cent/pcs):
