Alun-Alun Kidul

Alun-alun Kidul is one of favorite place in Yogyakarta. Alun-alun Kidul is contain two words, there are Alun-alun in English is square, and Kidul (Javanese Language) mean south. Because the square is located on the south side of the Keraton Yogyakarta (The palace of Yogyakarta).

There is a myth in Alun-alun Kidul. Our desire will be answered if we could walk through between the trees with closed eyes from the north side square. Its looks easy, but you can believ or not, some people hard to walk through between the trees.

Allegedly, the myth is used to prevent colonial enter the Keraton area in the colonial period.
